Mark is originally from the Sheldon and Sioux Center IA. area. He graduated from Northwestern College of Orange City, IA. Mark played football there and ultimately spent 25 years in Chicago in the medical sales industry. But, it was his love of the Okoboji Lakes area that drew him back home! His aunt and uncle bought a home on East Lake and it was the summers during college that got him “hooked”! He worked at a record store in the Emporium during the summer and got the full lake experience during that time boating, skiing, jet skiing and has fond memories of the best summers of his life! 
During his years in Chicago he would come back and spend many summer vacations with his daughter Kiana creating another generation of Okoboji kids!! She is now at The University of Kansas but also claims to be a part of The University of Okoboji Phantoms and proudly wears her Barefoot T Shirt!
Mark lives on East Lake Okoboji just down the street from Parks Marina and prides himself in helping his customer find the right boat so they can create those fond memories just as he did and still does!
