Posted on September 4, 2019 in Press Releases

Parks Marina was proud to once again honor our Nation’s Veterans with the annual Salute to Veterans at The Barefoot Bar on Saturday, August 3rd.

“We were happy to donate a Maui Mat as a raffle item, says,” Butch Parks, owner of Parks Marina. “Vani Ahlers and representatives of Rally4Veterans sold raffle tickets to very enthusiastic crowds at The Barefoot  Bar over several weekends, and our customers were very happy to help us support our Veterans, have a chance to win the Maui Mat and send our American heroes to Washington D.C on Honor Flight.”

“It was an outstanding summer to raise funds for Honor Flights at the Barefoot Bar, said Vani Ahlers from Rally4Veterans, “Thank you to everyone that sold and bought raffle tickets and thank you to Butch and Debbie Parks for this opportunity as we raised $7100 for Rally4Veterans. That is $3,000 more dollars than last year and will send 11 Veterans a big American Thank You with a trip to Washington D.C.”

Salute to Veterans at the Barefoot was highlighted with music by The Senders and many of our Nation’s service men and women in attendance at The Barefoot Bar in Okoboji. The winner in the drawing for the Maui Mat donated by Parks Marina was Jenny Thompson from Sturgis, South Dakota

Other items donated by Parks Marina in the drawing included a U.S. Flag flown over the Capitol building in Washington D.C, a flag of the State of Iowa flown over the Capitol building in Des Moines, a cooler from Cobalt Boats and a neon sign from Doll Distributing, distributers of Anheuser-Busch in Spencer.
