"Couture for a Cause" to Benefit the Alzheimer's Association of Iowa

On Thursday, June 6 Parks Marina will be hosting “Couture for a Cause” benefiting Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.  The event will be held in the Parks Boat Club above Snappers Turtle Bay Café located at Parks Marina in Okoboji. Raffle tickets will be sold that evening with proceeds going to benefit The Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa. Raffle prizes include donations from Ray Ban, Corksicle, the Barefoot Bar, Okoboji Boat Works cruises Lilly Pulitzer, and more.

“This will be an exciting evening to get a glimpse of fun and vibrant Okoboji styles for both men and women while partnering with and raising funds for The Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa, “said Debbie Parks – Marketing Director for Parks Marina.  “On top of that, The Boat Club offers beautiful views. I hope we make this a premier event every year! “

Fashions shown during the evening will be from the Lilly Pulitzer collection from Palm at the Park, West Boutique, Okoboji Boat Works and styles from the Barefoot collection. The runway models will include Ashly Richardson reporter for KTIV in Sioux City.

Iowa has the 7th highest Alzheimer’s death rate in America and over 5 million Americans are living with the disease according to the Alzheimer’s Association "We are honored and thrilled that Parks Marina has chosen the Alzheimer's Association to support and join us in our vision of a world without Alzheimer's." said Jill Madsen – Development Specialist for the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in Sioux City.

The evening will also feature a live DJ, special bar and food menu, and free swag bags for the first 25 guests. Representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association will be on hand and the event is sponsored by Parks Marina and Keelson Harbour of Spirit Lake.
