Rentals & Property Operations Manager

As the Rentals & Property Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a marina facility that includes boat wet slips and a rental operation. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safety, satisfaction, and enjoyment of marina customers while managing staff, and facility maintenance. In this role, you will work side by side with the Excursion Boat Operations Manager to achieve daily goals and fill in for one another’s absences. Requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as an understanding of boating and marina operations. 

Job duties to include, but are not limited to:

Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers and guests, ensuring their needs are promptly and courteously met.
  • Resolve customer inquiries, complaints and issues to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of customer service throughout the marina.

Staff Management

  • Train, schedule, and supervise marina staff, including dockhands, rental staff, and maintenance personnel.
  • Set performance expectations and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Operations Management

  • Coordinate boat slip assignments and reservations.
  • Oversee the rental operation, including the maintenance, and scheduling of rental boats and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies, parts, and rental assets.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure that marina operations comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Implement safety procedures and provide training to staff and customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of local and federal boating laws and regulations.

Maintenance and Facilities

  • Oversee regular maintenance and repair of marina infrastructure, docks, and facilities; taking a hands on approach at times.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for large repair and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure the marina is clean, safe, and well maintained.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Work with marketing team to execute marketing strategies to attract new customers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in marina management or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of boating, marina operations, and safety practices.
  • Excellent leaderships, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including reservation and billing systems.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Working most weekends with regular overtime in summer months.
  • Ability to work holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate and navigate boats.
