Summer internship opportunities in the retail sales management at Parks Marina!
Position to include a wide variety of Retail Sales and Merchandising projects but not limited to: special events, daily promotions, social media campaigns, signage, public speaking, television and radio appearances as well as sales assistance and restocking inventory. Candidates will also assist in the merchandising and purchasing of resale items and accessories.
We are looking for individuals who have the interest to gain hands-on experience while working our sales floor and learning business and management skills. Someone who will share knowledge and excitement about the latest in fashion, from traditional to trendy. One that will develop the skill to tell it like it is in the dressing room by giving honest feedback and guidance to customers on style and fit. Someone who will be an active part of the team by doing your part to keep the store organized which includes stocking, re-merchandising, display, price markdowns and merchandise transfers. A strong relationship builder with customers who have a passion for fashion by attending to their individual shopping needs is a must for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Sales – Proven ability to generate sales, add-on and develop relationships with customers
- Client Service – Ensures that the client remains the top priority while offering suggestions to complete outfits
- Store Operations and Organization – Ability to organize and lift merchandise, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines and maintain a clean store
- Merchandising – Knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and ability to implement and maintain within guidelines
- Accuracy – Ability to handle cash and provide change without error.
- Ability to prepare nightly deposit as necessary. Captures accurate information for all transactions including signatures, addresses, and original receipt data
- Communication – Communicates effectively with Customers, Members of Management, and Store Associates. This person must be a team player.
Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong PC Skills, including Microsoft Office, Publisher and Google Suite
- General understanding of graphic design including Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop is a plus
- Working knowledge of most common social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Periscope and Snapchat preferred.
- Disciplined work ethic and desire to be part of a winning team.
Pay: $14/hr
