Assistant Retail Buyer

The Assistant Buyer role is a combination of purchasing, graphic design, sales, merchandising, and website sales management. This is a year around full-time position with overtime required during our high tourist season, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Weekends and some evenings are required with some flexibility to be enjoyed during the non-peak season.

Key Responsibilities

Work in coordination with lead buyer in selection and creation of custom imprint wearables and accessories for multiple locations.
Select merchandise and develop product assortments to grow the business and increase market share.
Design art for screen print.
Oversee receiving merchandise.
Oversee Ecommerce. Facilitate on-line sales strategies from photography, posting items on-line to processing shipment.
Responsible for achieving sales, margin and inventory plans. 
Lead, change and bring in new ideas, designs and strategies for growth.
Organize merchandising structure of the retail store.
Build and maintain strong vendor relations. 
Source, evaluate and negotiate prices per product. 
Assist in the coaching of part time associates on customer service and sales, restocking and more.
Maintains store website and social media pages to drive sales.

Other Duties as Needed/Requested

Work directly with customers in front of house sales for apparel and accessories as called upon.
Perform daily duties including restocking, merchandise transfers, receiving shipment, remerchandising, opening and closing the register, and cleaning as called upon.
Research current trends in merchandise and social media and follow through with sourcing and purchasing of trending merchandise as to make sure store is on leading edge of current sales trends 
Willingness to lend opinion, support, artistic capabilities, ideas & assistance to all retail locations within the Parks Marina family.
Other duties as called upon and that naturally arise as position evolves.

Qualifications

Candidate must have at least one year experience in retail sales and visual merchandising, preferably with a background in wholesale purchasing.
Working knowledge and proven accomplishments with the Adobe Suite. (PC)
Knowledge of website maintenance, on-line sales and social media platforms strongly preferred. 
Experience or desire to learn: purchasing and design of custom imprinted resort wear. 
Understanding profit margin and a strong willingness to increase company bottom line.

Proven ability in retail or sales otherwise with ability to improve customer satisfaction loyalty.
This position must be able to adapt to the ever changing work environment of a growing company. Only team players should apply.
