Snappers Turtle Bay Cafe is now hiring for a head cook! The Head Cook\Kitchen Lead is ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines. Chef is also expected to set an example as a leader for the Back of House team.
-Control and direct food preparation and cooking process
-Train kitchen employees in designated stations to prepare exact recipe menu items
-Maintain responsibility for proper food storage, labeling and safety
-Maintain responsibility for food hygiene practices
-Showcase team management as well as team player skills by possessing a high level of
adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.
-Sustain a positive attitude and demeanor while in the kitchen and encourage similar
behavior from all back of house staff.
-Manage and work closely with Front of House and Back of House staff at all levels.
Responsible for creating menu and feature items to ensure variety, quality and profitability
-Approve and polish dishes before they reach the guest
-Develop on-trend dishes that meet prime cost goals by working with vendors to utilize
featured items or support tools
-Create recipe for each dish that can be viewed and followed by all kitchen employees
-Create recipe for each dish that utilizes correct proportion of ingredients to ensure
proper menu pricing
-Other duties as assigned
