Summer 2024 Dock Hands at OBW

Okoboji Boat Works is currently accepting applications for a part time seasonal Dock Hand\Bar Back Staff.

Dock Hand must be outgoing, dependable, responsible, courteous, friendly and be a team player as well as work individually at times.  Candidates should have general knowledge of boats and have a want-to-work attitude.  The work schedule will be a mandatory 6 days per week with required weekend hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform daily dock hand duties

Require work on weekends

Assist boaters docking when arriving and departing marina

Fueling rental and customer boats and waverunners

Basic maintenance of items in and around marina, such as cleaning restrooms, removing trash and parking lot

Pump out boats

Clean seaweed from slips

Clean boats

Clean and maintain appearance of excursion boats for public and private cruises

Efficiently and continuously re-stock bartender serving stations with liquor, ice, fruit, straws and napkins as necessary for bartender use

Weekend and holiday work is required.  Seasonal months (May-October)
